Knocklyon United Football Club is one of the largest and fastest growing soccer clubs in Ireland. The club is represented in the various leagues in Dublin by 38 schoolboy teams and 3 senior teams. In addition the club runs a nursery for 5 & 6 year olds to coach and teach them the foundations of soccer skills and techniques. In total the club presently caters for approximately 580 children. Knocklyon United  was founded in 1984 and originally had just two teams. The focus of Knocklyon United has always been and, will continue to be, the provision of football at every age level and ability for children from the local community. Over the years we have enjoyed considerable success in the Dublin District Schoolboys, EBS South Dublin League and Leinster Senior League, being Champions and Runners-up on numerous occasions at various age groups as well as winning many trophies in cup competitions.

	Our current goalkeeping coach Derek Kennedy who works tirelessly with our players is now seeing the benefit with some fantastic net minders being produced at Knocklyon Utd. Derek previously worked as a goalkeeping coach with Wayside Celtic and as a 16 year old was on his way to Leeds Utd, but an unfortunate ankle break halted that avenue.		Alan Kelly, a UEFA A licensed coach has a wealth of experience at both schoolboy and senior level having previously coached at Rangers AFC, Cherry Orchard, Dunboyne AFC, Shamrock Rovers and Dublin Bus. Alan and I will focus on the small sided set up. Our belief and philosophy is development over the must win mentality. To educate the kids from a young age and provide them with the tools to play open, expansive and enjoyable football.
	Also joining our coaching staff is former Shelbourne defender Greg Costello. Greg who is a 3 times FAI cup winner and league of Ireland winner with Shelbourne will bring a wealth of experience to our club and will be of enormous benefit to player’s managers and coaches alike. Greg will focus on some of our 11 aside teams.		Head Coach Paul Barry was quoted as saying “I’m over the moon with the new additions to our coaching team.
