THREE MOBILE
Knocklyon United will celebrate their 30 year anniversary next season. When first started in 1984, the club only had two teams. In the intervening time, they have added more than 1 club per year, and now have 35 schoolboy teams and two Leinster Senior League teams. And this does not include their club nursery which caters for 5 and 6 year olds.
So coaching and managing more than 550 players takes a lot of effort and no small amount of money. When the Three Club Offer was first launched in 2010 a number of committee members saw an opportunity to generate some additional funds for the club. Since signing up for the offer, the club have now earned more than €5,400.
Dave Finn, Chairman, said: “As a club we are always looking for new ways to raise money for the club, and the Three Club Offer has been a great success for us. We have used the money to buy kit and equipment mainly for our academy who have just started a new 4 year coaching plan, which we hope will provide the stars of the future.
“The club have really got behind the initiative, and we are delighted to keep receiving payments from Three for the money we have earned.”
The Three Club Offer is open to all clubs affiliated to the FAI. To date more than €475,000 has been earned by clubs. To learn more, see 3football.ie
